Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox went to the Royal Academy of Music, London during the 1970s. She took a course in harpsichord and the flautist piano for three years. She managed to make it on her student stipend while working part time jobs. Lennox was of the opinion that her talents aren't the same as the Royal Academy classmates. So she thought about alternative paths she could take. Lennox started out as an instrument player within the band Dragons Playground. She quit the band before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent contest. The singer was the primary voice of The Tourists a British pop group from 1977 until the year 1980. It was during this time that she met Dave Stewart with whom she will form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox was then able to begin work on her solo debut album Diva and it was released around 1992. This album became a huge hit with regard to the sales as well as the critical acclaim. Nostalgia Lennox's 6th solo album came out in November of 2014. The C.D. contains a collection of Lennoxs favourite blues and soul songs from her childhood. Lepidoptera was recorded by Lennox on the 19th of May 2019. It is a collection consisting of four tracks that were improvised. The E.P. is a companion piece to her art installation in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art titled"Now I'll Let You go... It is also her debut independently-released album.
