Linda Blair
As young as five, Linda Blair had to get used to public attention, initially as model for children and later as an actor, after out of 600 applicants she was picked for the role as Regan as the possessed child, on the screen in The Exorcist (1973). Linda Blair quickly rose to fame and won her first Golden Globe. She was expected to also win an Academy Award. But when it was revealed that certain part of her roles were recorded and that a stunt-dummy played only eight seconds of the film, her dream ended in a shambles. She was able to land the lead role in a range of films, such as Born Innocent (#1 TV film in 1974) and Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic(1975) as well as her role in the Exorcist II sequel Exorcist II : The Heretic. When she bought cocaine under influence from her friends at the age of 18 this resulted in being arrested and sentenced to three years probation. The highly publicized drug bust resulted in Linda to be blacklisted in Hollywood as well as her professional career was soon reduced to B-movies, and occasionally TV guest appearances.
